In|Outsource International Projects 2015, Art Museum Nanjing, China
In 2015, the Art Museum of Nanjing (AMNUA) hosted the In|Outsource International Project, an exhibition critiquing Marshall McLuhan’s concept of the “Global Village.” Featuring thirty-one artists from ten countries, the exhibition explored the notion of “to oursource,” examining connections across various platforms—geographically, economically, and socially.The project highlighted China’s integral role in the global landscape, emphasizing that no modern nation can escape the influence of products and technologies produced there. Curated by AMNUA, the exhibition aimed to broaden the traditional art exhibition framework into a more flexible, international biennial platform, evolving into what is now known as “International Projects.” This initiative fosters dynamic artistic exchanges rather than adhering strictly to biennial timelines.
